The IETE conducts the Graduate ship
Examination in Electronics and telecommunication Engineering and
Computer Science & Engineering (AMIETE Examination), a pass in
which is recognised as equivalent to an Engineering Degree by
the Union Public Service Commission, Govt. of India,
several State Governments, Universities/ Institutions.
This qualification further enables a candidate to appear for
GATE for postgraduate studies in India. AMIETE
standard has been evaluated by the old Education Service; a
New York based Educational Credential Evaluators, who have
declared that it is equivalent to a Bachelors Degree in
Electronics and Telecommunication engineering in the United
States. Many graduates from this Institution have already got
admission in postgraduate courses (MS) in USA. The IETE
also conducts postgraduate level 4-ourse in Computer
Engineering, ALCCS (Advanced Level Course in Computer Science)
Which is also recognised by the Ministry of HRD, Govt. of
India, as equivalent to M. Tech in computer Science. lETE
conducts Diploma Level Examination in Electronics, which is also
recognised by the Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India. Thus IETE
conducts all the three Levels of Examinations, Diploma, Graduate
and Postgraduate levels, to help the Nation to `build up its
technical manpower at all levels, which is. the need of the
hour.
To spread it's many fold technical activities in all the regions
of the country. IETE has established so far 40 Centers spread
all over the country including a centre abroad. IETE also has
mutual arrangements with similar professional bodies like the
Institution of Engineers (India), IEEE (USA), IEEE Com
Soc and lEE (UK) for availing each other's facilities for
the benefit of its members.
RECOGNITION
The IETE is recognised by the Govt. of India
as an EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION OF NATIONAL EMINENCE. The
IETE has also been recognised by the Govt. of India, Ministry
of Science and Technology, Dept. of Scientific and
Industrial Research as a SCIENTIFIC AND INDUSTRIAL RESEARCH
ORGANISATION, (SIRO). Extracts of recognitions by Govt. of
